Full-time French courses for immigrants are for you if you meet all of the following conditions:
Your place of birth is outside of Canada;
You are 16 or older;
You live in Québec.

Description of full-time French courses for immigrants
Full-time French courses allow you to learn French quickly and to accelerate your integration in Québec.
They focus on life in Québec and cover, among other things:
The labor market;
Culture;
Values.
Courses Levels
The courses are designed for students at the beginner and intermediate levels.
An assessment test may be necessary to evaluate your knowledge of French. The assessment may:
last between 15 to 60 minutes;
be done orally or sometimes written.
Free of charge
French courses are free. You have no registration or tuition fees to pay.
You may be required to pay a small fee if you participate in a cultural activity or an outing as part of your courses.
Schedule
Full-time courses are given:
In class or, if needed, at a distance;
5 days a week;
Monday through Friday;
Between 25 to 30 hours per week.
Generally, the course duration is 10 weeks.
Location
A full time course will be offered to you regardless of where you live in Québec.
Classes are held in:
Universities;
Cégeps;
Community organizations;
School service centres or school boards.
For full time courses, we will suggest a location based on:
Your level of education;
Your preferred training location;
Site availability
Some courses are taught at a distance to meet the needs of certain students. You must be in Québec to take a distance learning course.

Financial assistance for your participation in the courses
You could receive $230 per week.
You can apply for financial assistance for course participation using the same form as your course registration.
You must answer “Oui” (Yes) to the question: « Demandez-vous une aide financière au Ministère pour participer à la formation? (“Are you applying for financial assistance from the Ministère to participate in the training?”) »
You are not eligible to receive this financial assistance if:
You are already receiving money:
From Employment insurance (when unemployed)
From Social Assistance (Social Assistance Program, Social Solidarity Program, Employment Objective Program and Basic Income Program);
From the Mesure de formation de la main-d’œuvre à l’intention des individus MFOR-I (Workforce Training Measure Program), of the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale (MESS);
the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité au travail (CNESST),
Québec Parental Insurance Plan (maternity or parental leave).
the Financial assistance program for skills recognition (PAFFARC in French);
the Financial assistance for Ukrainian nationals (SAPU in French).

After registering for full-time French courses for immigrants
After your application has been processed, you will receive communications in your message centre on the platform Apprendre le français.
If your application is accepted:
The first communication will confirm that you can attend a full-time French course;
The second communication will confirm your registration and the location and start date of your course. You will also find information about the financial assistance to which you are eligible.
If your application is refused, you will receive a communication informing you of the decision, and you will be able to request a review of the decision This hyperlink will open in a new window. (in French only).

Update your file.
Course participation
Attendance in the courses is mandatory. To successfully learn French, you must:
Actively participate in your courses
Respect the rules of attendance and behaviour of your training facility;
Contribute to a good classroom environment.
You could lose your access to courses or financial assistance if:
You are absent and your absences interfere with your learning and the smooth running of the class;
You behave inappropriately in a way that interferes with, either:
To the orderly conduct of the class,
To the continuation of your training;
You have a serious learning problem that your course cannot address. If this is the case, we may be able to assess your learning difficulties and redirect you to another course that can meet your particular needs;
If your training is given at a distance and you are not in Québec.
In the event that your training is interrupted, you can reapply for admission to a French course under certain conditions.
Evaluations
Your French language learning is assessed during your courses and at the end of each session.
Your results can be used as proof of your French skills This hyperlink will open in a new window. should you wish to apply for Canadian citizenship.
If you believe that your evaluation results do not reflect your French skills, you can request a grade review.
Fill out the form Demande de révision des résultats d’évaluation de fin de cours (PDF 652 Kb) [Request for review of end-of-course evaluation results – In French only] and sign it.
Give it to the person in charge at the educational institution where you are taking your courses.
You have 5 days after receiving your results to request a review.
